First of, let me make this clear, if you are into commercial music (music that you hear on the radio that keep repeating everyday) London will be your haven. If your into contemporary or underground music, you’d find yourself locked at home. London has mix of highly commercial music as well as contemporary, the only problem is that contemporary music hang outs are expensive. If you just need a place to hang out and relax and listen to good lounge and house music, you would find places like Movida perfect for you. Unfortunately, you need to extremely loaded.
You would easily end up spending 2000 pounds for a night out. If that isn’t your price range, then your looking at Ministry of Sound, Fabric, Egg, The End and Cable. But again the people and the atmosphere that these places bring might make you want to run away from there. Lots of people who come there come for a purpose, they DON’T want to go home alone! So you end up keeping watch on your girl friend or your sister more than enjoying yourself. Drinks like a 2 double shot of JD with coke will cost you 9 pounds. I know London is an expensive city but seriously! I would rather stay sober the whole night and get bored than spend tons of money on alcohol that i’m going to regret the next morning. In cable I spent 10 pounds for 2 bottles of Corona. These factors turn me off, only unless your a working independent person, you would have no issues spending money here. However don’t let yourself down self down. London has some of the best Jazz bars, often cramped but with probably the best of Jazz you can find. The Vortex attracts the best of Jazz. I would conclude with mixed feelings about the nightclub scene in London. If I were you, I would just follow my favourite artists and go for their performances in London, in other words, keep away from the night scene unless your really loaded or your following your favourite groups or bands for night outs. Don’t just stay under a fosters advert doing nothing, hunt for your nightspots and enjoy a fosters while your at it.
